Shakib Al Hasan: A Record-Breaking Allrounder Making Bangladesh Proud in Cricketing World

Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladeshi allrounder, reached a stunning milestone in the first ODI against Ireland in Sylhet by becoming the third cricketer in the one-day international (ODI) history to achieve 7000 runs and take 300 wickets. With this impressive feat, Shakib joined the exclusive group of Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi.

Shakib reached his 7000th run in his 227th ODI match when he took a single off Curtis Campher in the 20th over. He is now the second-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in this format after Tamim Iqbal, who has amassed 8146 runs in 209 matches.

During Bangladesh's previous ODI series against England, he reached his 300th wicket and became the third left-arm spinner after Jayasuriya and Daniel Vettori to achieve this milestone. Shakib achieved the feat with his four-wicket haul in the third ODI in Chattogram.

Shakib is also the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in Tests and T20I, with 231 and 128 wickets respectively. He has further solidified his reputation as an all-time great by being the fifth-highest wicket-taker overall in T20s, with 443 scalps in 350 matches. Shakib also holds the impressive record of being one of only two cricketers, the other being Dwayne Bravo, to have amassed 6000 runs, 400 wickets, and 50 catches in T20s.

Shakib's remarkable achievements make him a vital part of the Bangladesh team across all formats of the game. He has been a crucial contributor to their success in recent years and is a vital cog in their middle order. Shakib's all-round consistency has made him the most crucial asset in the current Bangladeshi lineup.

The milestones achieved by Shakib Al Hasan are a testament to his skill, dedication, and perseverance. He is undoubtedly one of the best allrounders in world cricket and continues to inspire young cricketers worldwide. With his exploits, he has not only brought glory to his nation but has also elevated Bangladesh's status in the cricketing world.
